New Video Inspection System Offer Interchangeable Small-Diameter Probes, Streaming Video Capability
(New York, NY) Mechanics and automotive technicians will welcome the comprehensive, cost-effective solutions offered by two models in The SEEKER™ Line of Video Inspection Systems from General Tools & Instruments (General®). In addition to having best-in-class value, the Seeker 400-09 (DCS400-09) and Seeker 400-05 (DCS400-05) are ideal for automotive applications and offer distinctive features that set them head and shoulders above the rest.
These video scopes are distinguished from the competition by such factors as:

- DCS400-09: 9mm diameter, ideal for inspecting gas engine cylinders, for example
- DCS400-05: 5.5mm diameter, better suited for looking into diesel engine cylinders and other narrower spaces
- Zoom and image rotation capabilities
- Ability to stream live video over the Internet
- Price
The DCS400-09 and DCS400-05 are wireless systems consisting of a standard base unit with a detachable, 3.5 in. color monitor that facilitates remote viewing from as far away as 10m (32.8 ft.). Both models feature zoom and 180º image flip. They are recording systems that allow the user not only to view live inspection video in real time, but also to capture and record either still images or video with the included 2GB SD card. Both models also have integral transmitters that communicate wirelessly with another new product, the RCV100 Wireless USB Video Receiver (available for separate purchase). The RCV100 plugs into and is powered by the USB port of any recent Windows computer and working in concert, the grip, the receiver and included software allow video and images to be streamed over the Internet via Skype, perfect for team-based diagnostics and training across the globe.
