Hi Neil,
I had mine replaced in 6/96..I have a 1990 4-runner..at the time Toyota said there was no recall, so I went a another person to have it taken care of..big mistake..but Toyota wanted way too much $...any way in October, after much talking to..I was paid back..Now I am having the same problem and it's only been 5 years???and I'm not the only one...what's up..Help! I have a 93 T-100, same V6 engine as your 4Runner. Toyota rebuilt my engine at 49,000 miles because of the extensive damage caused by the failed head gasket around the No. 6 cylinder. I now 60,000 miles down the road, same problem. Toyota so far has not step up to the plate. My understanding that Toyota as gone through several head gasket upgrades subsequent to my inital repair, which is the basis of my aurgument for Toyota to fix it.

We are having trouble with our '95 4 runner headgaskets - are they the same ones used for your "replacement head gaskets"?

I have a 1990 Toyota 4runner with 140K. I had a hose rupture and the engine overheated. They were looking at taking the heads off and checking for damage when the Chief mechanic noticed that i had non toyota head gaskets. They checked and the recall had never been done on my vehicle, so they rebuilt the whole motor, for free (minus the cost of all new hoses and the timing belt i had replaced).

I have a 1990 4-Runner. At about 167,000 miles, I found out about recall & Toyota replaced head gaskets. I had never had any previous problems with head gaskets. That was 4 years ago. I now have 243,000 miles on this truck & it is still in great shape! |
