i have an 81 toy 4x4 and i lost the plate on top of the front spring that holds the u-bolts in place, is this plate needed or do i not need it? |

If it's what I think you're talking about, then yes, you need it. Otherwise you won't have anything for your uBolts to bolt to. Can you add a picture so that we can see what you're talking about? Thanks, Rick |

it's the plate on top with the rubber stopper on it, has no holes. |

Oh... that's the bumpstop bracket. One might argue that you don't HAVE to have it, but if you plan on doing any off-roading, you really should have it. This keeps the axle from travelling too far upward and contacting steering components, the frame, etc. Rick |
