| This 2002 4Runner has a vibration after the engine gets to its running temp. and you stop say at red lights or stop signs. The dealer found out that this is the tail pipe shaking. After a meeting with the area field rep. it has been determined that they will not fix this problem. Because we tested two other units and they did the same thing. Therefore, I have sent in the paper work to the aribtration group to get this settled.
GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR 2002 4RUNNER IF YOU HAVE ONE!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

We have a 2002 4Runner and it does NOT have this vibration..Yet!...I think you are getting a raw deal..Just because other 4Runners on the lot have the same problem does not give them the right to ignore it all togeather. They should fix them all...You must have a very poor service manager..My 02 Tacoma had a whistle in the front end and my service manager worked his butt off to find it. He finally did..Good luck to you..Hal

| The VSC on my 02 4runner is an issue for me. I want to drive my own vehicle any way I please. I drive off and on the road, however VSC is always a problem. If i didn't think that i was ivan stewart, i problably wouldn't mind. For the average joe who can't operate an automobile with any finesse, it might be great. I HATE IT.
I have traced down through the electrical schematics to find a possible solution. The VSC turns off with the center diff locked. The indicator lights when it is locked. This is tied directly to the VSC computer. I believe this is what disables the VSC. I am in the process of installing a switch for this. I may have to apply voltage to the computer to fool it into thinking the center diff is locked. This may not disable the TRAC system though...
The only other way to disable VSC is to remove or switch off the ABS relay. However of course at the loss of ABS.
If anyone else has experimented with this please let me know. |
