| I have a 2002 trd tacoma, Does anyone else have a vibration noise some where in the passenger side? Just rattles half the time. The rattle occures when just creeping along. Sounds like its in the upper dash over the airbag. Does anyone know what it is and if there is a solution? |

I also have a 2002 4wd Tacoma with a vibration noise which seems to be under
the dash just slightly right of center. The odd thing is that it only occurs
when the weather outside is hot or warm. Took it to the dealer today (rain)
& they said bring it back when the vibration was occuring. If I knew how
to remove the center cluster finish panel, I could probably find the source
myself & maybe stuff some foam rubber in there or something.

Well I am glad that i am not the only one. I will pay more attention to the weather myself. If you ever find a solution let me know, vise ver sa. What about your radio, is you cd player holding up. I think that the sensor is going, whenever i go to eject the cd, it gives me the ERROR_1 read on the lcd panel. I still love my truck! |

I had the same problem. Mine was the defroster vent rubbing against the dashboard . I pushed down the vent carfully with a screwdriver and the noise went away. |

I stuffed a piece of 14x3/4 inch length of foam rubber in between the
dashboard & windshield (from center to left) & the noise is gone.
This probably moves the dashboard slightly off the defroster duct.

I have the same truck and yes mine does the same thing. I took it to the dealer and they said to fix it they would have to take the entire dash apart. So instead I took some pipe insulation cut about a 2 foot by 1/2 inch wide and stuffed it between the windshield and the dash. Problem gone. And the insulation does not look that bad either. I'm going to get a some to go all the way across so it looks like it came like that. But the problem should never be there in the first place. The sad thing is Toyota knows about the problem and does nothing about it. Goodluck

take it to the dealer and tell them there is a TSB on this problem |
