| does anyone have the same problem when accelerating hard and hearing a sort of pinging noise from eihter the exhaust or engine. the sound is much louder when driving along side a building, makes it sound pretty junky. need answers only had truck for 1 week, thanks. |

I purchased 03 4runner, it has been a disapointment from day 1 and I plan on trading this fall. check mycarstats.com for a long list of problems

I justBought mine Yesterday a 04 Sport v6 and the same noise....Very disappointed...Has anyone gone to the dealer to fix? Is there a Fix? whatcan I do besides turn up radio to eliminate the sound

I've always run my V6 Limited with Premium fuel and it still makes that noise. I'll eventually change the exhaust manifolds with aftermarket headers with a better exhaust flow design (the stock design is inefficient). If anyone knows about any mod-chip that will increase the power on the V6 motor, please post a message. thanx
