Hi I have a 2000 runner sr5 and i cannot get the key out of the ignition it wont turn to the off position. any replies will help

Iwent through this with my 99 tacoma.I ended up having to go to a locksmith,who told me that my key was worn out,and by removing the passenger doorpanel,got numbers off the lock cylender,which enabled him to make a new key.(getting the key out involved turning the key and steering wheel, and some force)

The Toyota dealer can cut a key based upon the VIN number as well. You'll likely have to show some sort of ID and proof that you own the car though. Rick
