Help anyone!! I changed my clutch on the toyota, stabbed the tranny back, put a new master cylinder and slave cylinder on. I bled the clutch system, got into the truck for a trial run and to my disappointment the clutch would not disengage. I checked the travel of the slave cylinder push rod and it is just barely moving out to the fork about 1 inch. This is not enough to disengage the clutch. I also put a come along on the fork just to manually disengage the clutch and was able to disengage it. I am at a loss. Anyone have any suggestions??? You can also email me at salasji@hotmail.com. Thanks in advance..

Hi bigdro - I would start re-bleeding the master and slave sylinder system again. My guess is that there is air in the lines, and it's just not creating enough pressure to disengage the clutch. I've had this happen a few times, and after extensive bleeding, it worked fine.

I agree with Rick. You probably have some air in the line. Did you bench bleed the new master? Are the new master and slave cylinders "new" or re-manufactured?
