A lot of confusing info.
OK, you rebuilt with a Weber carb, headers, and some piston that 'should' give you 10:1 compresion ?
What head work?
What block work?
What pistons?
Stock or aftermarket intake?
Original cam or replacement 'stock' grind?
Any idea what f%^d up (to create the comp loss)?
etc ...
Once you figure out what went wrong, fix it, and if you still need a cam, call Ted at engnbldr.com, explain everything CLEARLY (not like your post), and ask what cam he reccomends. Ted is a 22R/RE guru, and his service and prices are great.
And find someone good to set up your gears and lockers, so you don't end up redoing them.
