ok, i just purchased a 88 4runner. today I screwed up and am kinda freaking out. i put my hubs in the free posistion today then got in the truck and drove like 10 feet with the shifter in h4. have i killed my hubs???? please reply

nope, didn't hurt a thing. Similarly, you could have done just the opposite (put the hubs in lock, and the transfer case in 2WD) and not hurt anything either.

I wouldn't recommend doing either one of those scenarios for extended periods of time, but in this case, it's no big deal.
