just bought 2002 Z-71. i have been trading for this style for 12yrs. until last year, when i went to a ford (big mistake). returned back this year to gmc. when i got the truck i noticed it set lower in front than the others i have had in the past. it looks more like a 2 wheel drive than i 4. my question is can i raise the front to level the body without causing any problems and not costing a big price.

You can lift the front end atleast 1.5" maybe 2.5" by ajusting the torsion bar set bolts(at the rear end of them) But you will need to get the front end realigned(That will set you back about $50-$75 for the alignment) and you will notice a big change in the way the truck rides and handles.
The set bolts for the torsion bar ajustment is underneath the cab about mid way back of the door(there is one on each side) up inside the frame.

| I think the 2002 suspension is still the same as that on the 1999 Z-71's. If so you can crank up the front torsion bars approx 1" to get a more level stance. You will need to have the front-end aligned, and you can expect a slightly harder ride. Other than that it's cheap and works |

Hey, go to www.hill4wheeldrive.com, they have leveling kits for your truck and can raise the front up a max of 2.5 inches. |

I have had mine about a year. I used Ford keys for mine and they only cost about 50.00 dollars.Goto a Ford dealer and tell them you need them for a f-150 truck. Hill uses ford keys and grind off the numbers so nobody will see that. I lifted my truck 2" and everything is working great and the ride still feels the same as before I lifted. At this time I don't have any pics or I would send you some. Hope this helps
