I'm getting ready to add a leveling kit to my 2000 Z71 and was wondering if blocks or a add-a-leaf is the best route to lift the rear?

I have read many post that state the blocks will leave the ride at a factory setting, but the add-a-leaf kind of stiffens the suspension. Well if the front of the truck is already going to be stiffen due to torsion crank wouldn't the add-a-leaf cause no more harm than what I'm already causing to the front?

Personally after reading several post I think the add-a-leaf is the way to go, but like any skeptical I want to ask others who have already went this route with the torsion lift & add-a-leaf for what I hope will give me a couple of inches in lift.

I know several key sites to get an add-a-leaf, but where would be a good, but inexpensive place to purchase one, or are they all the same? Thanks a head of time. Kevin

KP - I think you're going to find that most sites are pretty competitive with their pricing and the difference will be within $10 or so. I'd go with whoever you're most comfortable with.

Let us know you're opinion after you've completed the lift.

Yes in my book any block or spacer more than a 1 or 2 inches or so should be avoiding as they can lead to spring wrapup and wheel hop. The bigger the block, the worse it can get.

GO W/ THE ADD A LEAF & ALSO SEE IF THEY MAKE THE PORKCHOPS FOR YOUR TRUCK YET FOR THE FRONT. IT WILL HELP YOU WHAT YOU WANT TO DO W/ THE TORSION BARS. I WOULD REALLY WAIT & SAVE SOME CASH UNTILL YOU GET A REAL LIFT. YOU CAN REALLY TEAR UP YOUR FRONT SUSPENSION & ALSO JUNK YOUR IFS.

I JUST LOOKED TO SEE WHAT YEAR IS & THEY DO MAKE THE PORKCHOPS FOR THEM.

I HAVE A 00Z71 ALSO W/ 456 GEARS, DETROIT LOCKER IN THE REAR,6 INCH LIFT, 35BFG, FIPK FILTER,LARGER TRANS COOLER & COMING SOON 14BOLT FF & W/ CUSTOM FRONT CUSTOM CUT & FAB D70 W/ HYDRO ASST. STEERING
