I've got a 1998 Z71 with the 350 Vortec. I am running everything stock except for a K&N filter and glasspacks. I'm only getting about 13 MPG. I was wondering if anyone had had this problem and been able to get the MPG up. I've done modifications to a 1994 Chevy with the 350 and had it running about 16 MPG. Just want to see what ya'll are running.

Is it a stick shift or an automatic? Has it always been this way, or is this a recent change?

Also, have you cheked or done any of the following?: 1) Performed a thorough tune up? 2) Checked the air pressure in all of yoru tires? 3) Changed fuel type (octane rating or are you buying from another gas station) 4) How many miles are on your truck? Maybe it's time to service the tranny/axles? (replace oil, etc. - excessive backlash, worn parts, old oil can all lead to poor mileage)

The truck is an automatic with 114K on it. I am feeling that it is the O2 sensors. I checked and they all have serious buildup on them. I'm going to change them and see what happens. I'll also check out the list you sent. Thanks.

Hey check out www.stylinconcepts.com They have a bunch of products you can put on your truck to help with gas mileage. Just select your truck model and make. Click on Engine Performance on the left. Then click on Gas Saving Products. Hope this helps.

If it's not GM, I don't want it.
