I just picked up a annoying rattle on the passenger side of my 2000 Z71 this morning. I started reading some archive post of some others with rattling noise, and seem to have an idea, but still seem a little to easy. One stated they thought it was coming from the third door hinge, and another stated it was his running boards banging on the frame of the truck. Well I'm asking does any one been able to pin point the source of the problem if it was indeed coming from the door. Second if the running boards coming loose would this be the same solution for one who has step rails? Like the other people that have posted about this annoying problem it is one that gets on your nerves and I mean it. Can some one help me out with this annoying problem that I have discovered this morning? Thanks a head of time. Kevin

Those noises are annoying. The best thing to do is have someone ride with you to try to pinpoint the problem. Or, have someone else drive while you find the origin of the noise. As a side note, I have noticed that every once in a while my passenger side head rest rattles.

Several years ago I had a simular noise in my 89 burb and it turned out to be a busted bolt on a chassis to frame mount so you might check that they are okay and tight.

I had an '88 Silverado and it turned out that a bolt busted in the window crank / lever system. It was a real pain in the a$$ to fix too.
