You can use a coilspring designed for a smaller engine in your Suburban to gain less lift, maintain alignability and even improve the on-road ride. If you were taking the vehicle offroad frequently I'd suggest otherwise.

Has anyone here lifted a 99 (91-99 i guess) suburban 2" in the front? I have only found 1 kit for a 2" lift, and it is from rough country. I have never heard of them. The reason for 2" is to level it off. Fabtech and a couple of others make a 3" lift, and a local shop suggested trimming those springs to the 2" needed. Now, fabtech makes 2 3" lift kits, one replaces the upper control arm for alignability, I guess the other makes it virtually impossible to align. But lifting it only 2 inches, would it be necessary to replace the upper control arm? I want to be able to line this thing up good, I cannot afford it eating up expensive tires all the time.

Have you thought about FabTech Lifts? They're good with lifting 2WD Trucks. |
