| I know GMC & Chevrolet are both from GM. But is there a difference between a Chevrolet Z71 and a GMC Z71 (same year), or is it just a name thing? Thanks. |

The difference is the nameplates and the apperances of the trucks (Front facsia, moldings, tailgate handles on top). They're really the same(most of the models). They have the same engines and options. The differnce is the Yukon Denali models and Sierra C3 models and the Avalanche and maybe a few others. Other than that, they're the same. |

The other reply is right on as far as appearance goes, however, GM had to come up with GMC or Chevrolet (which ever came first) so they would not monopolize the American Industry. GMC is really just to save their butts!
