| Okay I was safely driving up an icy highway at about 40 - 50 mph . . . when the road started to get worse I slowed a bit and decided to shift my 96 Blazer into 4 hi. Upon shifting the manual transfer case into 4 Hi the front wheel lights came on and everything seemed fine I began to accelerate and soon found myself fighting to regain control of a fish tailing rear end that soon was an all out spin after spinning 2-3 times around I came to a soft landing on the shoulder and everything was fine (except my shorts) I continued my driving opting to stay in 2 Hi. This could have been an icy spot in the road that coincided with my shifting to 4 Hi, but I find it suspicious as today while in 4 hi while turning into a parking spot I felt this jerking motion like my brake was clamping and then releasing. I'm thinking this may be related and possibly something to do with a CV joint or some other joint issue? Thoughts? Is the vehicle safe to operate in 2 Hi? Thanks |
