I have a block heater installed on my 95 Blazer. I have never used one of these and am not sure how do use it. Do I just plug it in and leave it or should I only use it for a specific amount of time. Any help would be appreciated.

------------ Since all the block heater is going to do is raise the temperature of the coolant and not the oil, if you want to have quicker heat to your heater ducts then the average thing people do is plug it in the night before your cold morning use. If you install a timer, though, all you really need is for it to be hooked up a couple of hours before. You might just find it doesn't take that long or it may take longer...depends.
