I bought a complete rear end with a Powertrax lockright differential. It is out of an 88 2WD pickup. I'm putting it in my 91 K1500 4WD truck. I need to install the 6 lug axles from my truck into the new rear end. Just can't figure out how to get the C clips out.Been to powertax website. No info there. Anyone ever removed the C clips? hopefully the axles are the same dia and same # of splines. Any info appreciated.

Thanks!

Have some one push in on the axle (tire and brake drum removed) and it should slide enough for you to grab the "C" clip. If not then I think you need to remove the hub to give you some slack. i have helped some buddies out more than once and the one person pushing in on the axle as the other removed the clip always worked, so I have never had to go the other route. If this dosn't work hopefully someone will reply with a better way. ------------ Steve B at 9/6/2003 4:16:50 PM
