are you gonna run a one or two ladder bars? the x bracing is good esp. since your gonna go w/ the horse power he is gonna be running. yes, they make the joints as big as a 4 inch eye lid.

primetimek5 LOL! 2 of them just a rough idea.have a lot of stuff to work out. snomam just for extra support for the axel tube's.

was thinking of just useing 2" square tubeing with track bar probable be about the same weight.I don't know?? just trowing some idea's out there.this setup mite be good for you guy's getting some are.,and i know it's not light weight but with that truck being about 4000 + pound's it's not a pro street anyway.

I know what it is supposed to do but you are not doing it right. THe best strenght to weight ratio would be to cut a piece on 3/16 inch thick or maaybe a 1/4 inch tops of steel the fit inside of frame with a few lighting holes in it and weld it to bars. You will never torque bend that setup if the tubing is sized correctly.

snoman I scrapped the idea because i found the 4 link setup on: www.bluetorchfab.com the only reason i was thinking the ladder bar setup.was because I couldn't find the bar's for the 4 link setup that i want to make.I know that ladder bar setup was not perfict. It was a rough idea on paper.that's all!! put your right on the trusses they do need to beefyer then that, and axel plates would be a plus.but the idea is gone.

hay snoman ! i didn't mean to come on so strong. just want a straight up opinion from who ever reply's to forum's/post. because i'm serise about wheeling like the rest of you.I'm new to the going all out for what i do. even if there are no rock crawling's involved yet! can't wait till that happen's. but for now i just want to get my rig setup the way i want it for now! then go from there.

Snoman and I had a great dialogue about the same topic a little while back. He had some great ideas - which isn't a surprise, given that he's an engineer - that you might be able to use. Check it out at: http://www.4x4review.com/discussions2/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=3713

well webby4x4 i agree with what snoman replyed with on that topic.ladder bar's would change drive line angel as the suspesion move's up & down, and that the ladder bar's would kill the axel wrap w/leaf's.

with a 4 link the drive line angel will stay at the fixxed angel. or closer to it then the ladder bar/leaf spring setup.the big plus with the 4 link is articulatoin (w/coil spring),and no axel wrap.(no leaf's to wrap).no deflection like leaf spring's.and less wheel hope too.

I now that what I'm getting in to is not cheap (1300.00)(4 link part's only)w/o steering,spring's/spring mount's,shock's.I'm willing to do.I check out the bds kit for a 10"lift at my local 4x shop.they want 1300.00 complete spring'sF/R shock's and all hard ware.+ another 400 buck's for the rest of the goody's to finish the lift :draglink, hydro assit, brake line kit.close to it any way.

4 link 1300.oo + other part 1500 buck's w/4 j yard spring's/mounting braket's,hydro steering,shock's brake line kit,steering link's/heim joints,limtiter traps.not sure if i mssed any thing but I think you guy's get what I'm saying.

1000 buck more for the 4 link setup.may be more.In my book that's not to bad for a better setup for what i do with my truck.

Sounds like the best possible setup, that's for sure.

Keep us updated with your progress. This should be a great setup!
