Hello , Im new here so hoping someone can help. I just bought a 84 3/4 ton k20 pickup.Motor has 21,000 built up pushing 350hp. The previous owner had a flat on the passenger side and decided to drive it home 2 miles on the flat?? When the truck is in 2wd there is no problems or sounds but when engaged to 4x4 there is a loud clunking sound?? Its on the passenger side where the flat was. Could this be the universal joint? If not what else could it be? Thanks to all who respond..

Does it clunk if it is in 2wd with hubs engaged or is it only when the Tcase is engaged.

Check front drive shaft joints good and if not you may have Tcase problems. The NP208 is not that strong and if you have bigger tires, a strong motor and tall gears it is not hard to break it. THe drive chain could be damaged or one of the drive spockets
