| Hello , Im new here so hoping someone can help. I just bought a 84 3/4 ton k20 pickup.Motor has 21,000 built up pushing 350hp. The previous owner had a flat on the passenger side and decided to drive it home 2 miles on the flat?? When the truck is in 2wd there is no problems or sounds but when engaged to 4x4 there is a loud clunking sound?? Its on the passenger side where the flat was. Could this be the universal joint? If not what else could it be? Thanks to all who respond.. |

Does it clunk if it is in 2wd with hubs engaged or is it only when the Tcase is engaged. |

Check front drive shaft joints good and if not you may have Tcase problems. The NP208 is not that strong and if you have bigger tires, a strong motor and tall gears it is not hard to break it. THe drive chain could be damaged or one of the drive spockets |
