sorry it took so long to post.
well on camrea ether.so far what i done is:
1.lifted the truck up to were i wanted the(ride height) to be at for 13"'s of lift. fab.. some truss out of 2" squar tubing 11"s for a totol height over the pig's F/R for the upper bar's.welded truss/heim mount's in,and welded the lowwer bar's heim mount's to the bottom of both axels.
2. now after doing all this.I made 4 cross members for the link's out of 3" angel 1/4"thick for the frame mounts with 6 holes drilled for 1/2" bolt's,and 2"/.350 thick tubing.did some reinforucment while i was at it on the frame.I made 3 more crossmember's of the same material to replace the factory once's.the first one is under the radiator core support,second one under the cab/bed,the third just in front of the new rear 25 gal.tank(blazer tank). removed the side saddel tank.used 1" square tubing for the tank support's,and used factory tank strap's to hold it up there.mounted a new gas tank door
in the rear of the quarter panel.
3. I mounted the crossmembers for the upper links on the top rail of frame.front one just behind the motor/tran's bolt together.the rear was mounted over the rear of the t-case housing(custom bent) the tubing to fit just so the bed just touchs the cross member.well guess it will add some support to the bed if i ever use it.
4. now for the lowwer crossmember's ar mounted to the lowwer part of the frame rails in the same location as the t-case crossmember.the front is a littel lowwer because of front drive shaft movement.now this were i measured the bar lengths 2"s less for the heim joint's
front are 42"s lowwers,36"s uppers tubing size: 1-/7/8 od with .300 thick 1-1/2id
now for the back i used the same tubeing for the rear 44"s lowwer and 40" uppers.heim joint's i used are 1" by 1".because i figured that no one that i know use's this setup around here anyway,and they are a littel stronger then the 3/4 heims.the insert'sare custom made for me to use the one inch heims'not sure of the demetion's off hand so i will leave that blank for now.
5.now that all this has been done i have removed all the old hardware from the truck.I cut all the spring hangers from the F/R frame mount's for the leaf spring steup,and the rear axel spring perch's were cut and ground down for a cleanner look.plus the factory shock mount's have all been removed.
6. now that all this has been done i kad a freind help me with moving the axel's in motin for articulation,bind,rubbing of tire's,drive line cleareance ect...now i added some braided brake line's to the truck,shock mount's are located on the lowwer bar's,and the upper shock mount's are mounted on the new crossmember's that i installed
earlyer in the build.
that's it for now.i'll keep posting on the rest as i go forward on the project.next time will be:shocks,coil spring's,mount's,hydro steering,limter straps,custom swaybars,track bar front/rear,new gear's 5.13's locker rear14 bolt/ox locker front with 5.13 gears dana 60.maybe 2 months before the rest gets done.new camrea also. so i'll have some pic's to.also having the part's plastic coated for some off set color's to make it stick out. I hope it's done around x-mas if all go's well.happy wheeling guy's. |
