I have a gm sierra 94 with over 230thousand miles on it it runs decent i guess but yah i pulled a code from the ecm and it said shift solenoid b was stuck or the torque converter was locked....either way my vehicle shifts like a slug...i cant put it to the floor or it will choke itself...the rpm guage is never at a steady rev in gear......any information would be helpfull in knowing how to go about this problem......thank you

What was the exact error code it gave you? (Not the description, but the code itself).

Are you sure those are the codes? In most vehicles in '94 ('93-'95 actually), the highest most codes went up to was around 66.

I'll need to know two more things: 1) What size engine do you have (e.g. 5.7 liter) 2) The 8th digit of your VIN #

BTW - in '94, code 42 = Ignition Control circuit malfunction. This could certainly be part of your fluctuating RPM gauge.

so yah after i checked my starter cuz it would engage itself whenever i hit a bump and then grind the fly wheel....but yah my starter was acting up so i changed it and after i changed it nothing changed but then the next morning i go to drive up the street and it shifts just perfectly so i think it was my electrical starter problems that confused the ecm....the terminal broke clean out the starter......but yah its a 5.7 and i'am pretty sure its a K series....but yah i changed the starter and 2 bad plug wires and it runs nicely.....
