| I have a 01 chevy 2500hd 8.1 litre. I am hearing a grinding noise from rear axle only when i take off slow. If I take off quick it makes no noise. It only happens when I first start to roll. Any ideas? Ps just bought the truck. |

How many miles on it and have you ever checked or changed the lube in the rear axle? |

Glad you hear you had a happy ending. Sometimes those two piece drive shafts with a carrier bearings can be a royal pain. With a lift you are really better off with a one piece one as it generally reduces ujoint angles. |

You may need to consider a CV joint d-shaft if you go that route though.

| I had an 04 2500hd and it had a one piece aluminum driveshaft. Much better. Any idea on cost? With the 8.1 it puts a lot of torque and I can see the same thing happening again. |
