| I have a 2000 Sierra 1500, I tried to shift the truck into 4 wheel by pushing the button and it just flashes for awhile and then goes back to 2hi. I can hear the T-Case motor when i push the buttons. I replaced the switch setup itself but that didnt fix the problem. So I was wondering what the problem could be. Is it the front acctuator or the indicator light switch on the T-Case? |

| You might try pulling the fuse for it and waiting about a minute and then replacing it which reboots the encoder/servomotor control system and see if that helps, otherwise you may be looking at a new encoder servo motor. (the joys of push button 4x4) |

No it is exteranlly located on the front of Tcase on drivers side between front drive shaft yoke on tranny input to Tcase. (not easiest place to get too) The contorl module or "brain" for it is located in lower dash board behind panel. |

It is fuse number 24 and it is a 20 amp according to my manuals. BTW, you have a NVG 246 NP8 Tcase and you should be able to get the encoder motor at a auto parts store if need be. Try resetting and rebooting system first. |

| I looked through my fuses and I cant find that fuse on either fuse block. So where is the block located that the fuse is on? |

| It says Power Distrubution Cell 10, fuse number 24 marked as 4WD and it is 20 amp, but, in another schematic (and these are GM books) a complete system schematic says that the fuse is number 2 and labeled Tcase 20amp in IP block. THis diagram shown wiring for everything in 4s4 control system and it shows a orange wire coming from that block that feed both encoder and control unit hooked to fuse number two. (and some wonder why I would never own a pushbutton 4x4) |

| Okay the only one that I can find that says 4wd is a 15amp. So i wonder if its the wrong fuse then. I am going to replace the front acctuator and the 4wd light/acctuator on the t-case too. Hopefully I can get this figured out. Thanx sno-man |

I have schematics if you need them. You should check for OBD2 codes too because it lists several of them for that 4wd system. |

| This may sound overly obvious, and I'm certainly not trying to insult your intelligence or sound flippant, but you might want to thumb through a repair manual at your local auto parts store. Heck, you might even want to spend the $12 and buy it. [)] |

Better yet, check out a local library. I have actual GM dealer manuals here on that rig and they are as clear as mud sometimes so it is no wonder that they do not fix your vehicle right sometimes. |
