The brakes are the problem for clearance. You could try to install smaller brakes but why would you want too with 42 inch tires?

They'll clear - I did it on my '74 Chevy 1 ton with a front D60. I had to take a lot of metal off, but it cleared. I ran it that way for another couple of years without problems, but I always wondered if the brake caliper would snap or not. I did it because I couldn't afford 16" rims at the time.

I don't recommend it for safety reasons, but it will clear.

Yea, I wont be driving it on the freeway or anything. It is offroad only. That is what I have been hearing, that you can grind the calipers down. I have just noticed that here in AK that 42s are cheaper in 15in rim pattern as opposed to 16in or bigger. Its not like I cant always get new calipers when I get a sweet deal on some new tires and wheels. Thanks guys.

The metal on the calipers are VERY thick, so there should be plenty of metal left when you're done.

For what it's worth, when I did it, I would take some metal off, then test fit the tire. I just kept doing that until it didn't rub anymore.

I did notice that when I was racing around (off-road of course) and jumping my truck, that it would rub - the rim would flex a bit. As such, I ground a bit more off of the calipers and all was fine.

Yep. That sounds right! That is what I did with my D44 and it worked good. Thanks for the help guys. I just wanted to know if it would be the same deal for the D60 as it is for the D44. I just did alot of work to my rig, I dont think I have showed ya'll pics of my shortbed lately. I will be sure to do so here soon. I chopped the bed down to the body line above the wheel well. Welded up my roll bar and made a spare tire carrier on it. Cut out the front fenders and competition cut the rear. And I am going to be adding a snorkel very soon. Then its all about beefing up the chassis and doing some skid plates.
