I was just wondering if anyone's been having problems with their power window motors. Since this past May, I've replaced the power window motors on the front driver door twice and the front passenger door twice on my 2004 Suburban Z71. The local glass guy says that there's some kind of design flaw in the window set up where the cable constantly snaps.
ALSO, WHAT'S THE DEAL WITH REMOVING THE INSIDE DOOR PANEL ON MY SUBURBAN? I seen the window motors on www.gmpartsdirect.com for about $70.00 but can't see how to pop the door panels off. I've removed the bolt at the bottom of the door which holds the panel, but how do you undo the 2 plastic clips securing the panel? |

I've heard that bad / dirty power will destroy electric window motors. You might want to check the ground and make sure that it's not corroded.
As far as removing the door panel goes, I'll try to reiterate from memory here... You need to remove three or so screws from the door panel, one is behind the inner door latch (the handle you pull to open the door from the inside of your rig), and the other ones I believe are in the door pocket (where you stuff trash). Once those are done, I believe you lift straight up on the door panel to remove it. GM got rid of those stupid Christmas tree door panel securing devices sometime around 2004 if I'm not mistaken, so you shouldn't have to deal with that.
