When you put the truck in 4 low are you sure the 4wd is engaging?
Does this system use a knob on the dash or a lever on the floor?
Usually with knob on the dash type (electric) of 4wd systems there is an actuator located on or near the front pumpkin which is what engages the 4x4 when switched, these are famous for going bad. Sometimes you can just tap on this and it will kick in kinda like when you have a bad starter and tapping on it will get it to catch. Let me know and I will try to help more. Nick |

You know it's going to be a good day when you get the milk to cereal ratio correct on the first bowl. |

Also make sure you're in neutral when doing this. One other trick that works for the smaller Chevy's is to be in neutral and be rolling (VERY slowly) when you try and put it in 4wd.

| ddudley,
The repeated flashing of the switch indicates a malfunction. Usually this is due to an actuator on the front diff., or what GM mechanics call an encoder motor(which actually selects the mode the t-case is in when you activate the switch). Since 4LOW appears to work, it will be hard to figure out which one is suspect. If you know anyone who has access to a TechII(scan tool) the system will have DTC's stored that will lead you in the right direction.
