| I am wanting to know the pros and cons of t-case setups that have a short drive shaft between the tranny and transfer case? Any info is appreciated! |

A divorced t-case gives you a better front drive shaft angle for running large lifts. Also it lets you run a 2wd transmission that would be easier to replace and to find a replacement if it fails while out 'wheelin.
Down side?
-Rear driveshaft to short on blazers, short boxes etc.
-Three drive shafts and six u-joints to possibly fail.
-T-case shift linkage has to be fabricated
-Need to fab custom t-case mounts
Now don't get me wrong I am considering installing one in my next suburban project, already have the case. Or I may install a dual transfer case from Off Road Design(ORD), it will give me a better lowrange and improve my front drive shaft angle.
Hope this helps you out, Dan

A divorced case is good for a large lift, because the front shaft is longer than a joined case. The drawback is that the shaft is low and hits on alot more stuff . |
