2001 chevy z71 ex cab..

I have been looking into diff locks. Does anyone know what comes with this truck. If it has an anti-spin diff then I think that would work for my purpose.

If it has a towing package, it likely came with a posi-traction unit, otherwise it came with open diffs.

Not always true as I have bought two GM trucks with factory HD towing packages and they did not have a LSD in them. Look for the G80 code in your options code list in truck. If it is present you have a Gov Loc if not you have open diffs.

No problem also be advised that GM now has a G82 HD locking diff option to in some trucks starting in 05 so either a G80 or G82 is a locking rear end now. The G80 code started about 30 years ago (give or take) as I recall.
