I have a 3 day old TB and I love it so far, But either I am incompetent or have a problem with the radio. The Bass level never stays where I want it and always returns to the high end of the scale after a station change. Anyone else with TrailBlazers have this type of trouble or any other problems I should look out for, please let me know.

Al,

I have an LTZ, two weeks old, premium sound (non Bose) and have not experienced this. The Driver 1 / Driver 2 mnemory system brings up the preferences in station selections depending on driver but the radio EQ settings do not appear to vary station to station. Let me know what you discover to correct this anomaly. If anything, think EQ settings would restore to center scale if memory was lost.

Rialbo Hey guys the radio has a setting that adjust the volume according to relavant outside sound. If you go to the p knob it has a setting for this feature.

I had the same problem. You have to reprogram all of the presets, as the radio records the base level when you set the presets and reverts back to that level when you press the button. Just tune to the station of the button you want to reprogram, make sure the settings are the way you want them, and follow the instructions in the manual for programming them.

My 2002 TrailBlazer LTZ (2WD) has given me a lot of trouble already--and it doesn't even have 10,000 miles on it yet! Here are some of the issues that I've encountered thus far:

-Faulty Cam Position Actuator

-Faulty Cam Position Phaser *These first two items listed were causing the 'Service Engine Soon' light to stay on constantly as soon as the vehicle was started up.

-Faulty Rear Pinion Seal *Caused the vehicle to leak fluid badly.

-Transmission failed at 9,000 miles *Wouldn't even shift into automatic 3rd at all. Started out slipping/hesitating going into automatic 2nd--and then eventually 3rd gear as well. The transmission ultimately failed one Friday evening when we were going up a long incline on a trip to the mountains.

-Driver's side floorboard fills up with water when the vehicle is parked at an incline during a heavy rainstorm.

-Glove box rattles unless it closed in a very strategic manner.

-Clicking noise coming from the rear hatch area when sitting at a stoplight. Sounds like the noise is coming from the upper corner near the lift glass.

-Clicking noise coming from the side sport mirrors while driving the vehicle.

-Loud squeaking noise when cornering hard.

-Same noise as described above when crossing a small bump at 45 m.p.h. or above.

Other than these 10 problems, it's been just great thus far!

I wish you much better luck with your TrailBlazer than I've had with mine.

Regards,

Ron

how did the speaker go bad? Was it rotted out and ripped or something?

i think in '02 gm was making "un-sweetened"lemon-aid insted of quality veichicals. had a 02 cavileer that had the seat belt "adjusted" 4 times and replaced twice. while wearing said seatbelt it would tighten up (causing choking) and wouln not release.to this day i still have not figgured out how the "stealer ship" adjusted a seat belt.

also egr sticker recall (big whoopie!) and heater pannel replacement.

"IN MY OWN OPINION" I would NOT buy an new gm product again.

when in doubt use duct tape
