hello When I was coming home from work i noticed that the heater in my 98 blazer was not working right, it would blow really hot air out for about 10 seconds then it would blow cool air out for about 5 secs it did this the whole way from work about half hour what do you think is wrong with it or do you have any ideas

The most likely cause of your problem is that your window is rolled down.

Just kidding...

Seriously though - it sounds like the air duct baffles are opening and closing. I *think* in '98, they are controlled with an electric motor, but I could be wrong and they are controlled by a vacuum switch. Either way, the fresh air / heated air duct baffle is likely opening and closing, and you should be able to fix it relatively easy.

Also, the same thing can happen when you are low on antifreeze/coolant. It ends up getting an air pocket thus the cool spots. But the fins opening and closing is a valid point. there may be a short somewhere in the heater/ac wiring harness, or even switch.

This was kinda true with older engines but the way the coolat is routed on the VorTec 350, it is not likely to happen. It would have to be REALLY low on coolant
