hey guys I was on the inter web and I came across something called 4x4 posi lok it is suppose to replace the vacum actuator, and you control the front axle by a cable in the cab of the truck you pull the cable to lock the wheels and push to unlock do you know if it is better than the standard vacum actuator system.

I saw a guy on the trail running one in his K2500 short bed 4X4 and he swore by it. I assume that if it's installed correctly, it would work a lot better than a thermal / vacuum actuator any day of the week, but I have no personal experience with them. The only thing I didn't like about it was that the cable handle was pretty large and bright red. It looked a little heinous, but I suppose it's 'function over form' for this application.

I do not like the exposed linkage down there either on fullsized trucks. Then newer servo driven axle disconnect whyich came out in about 98 is a lot more reliable than the earlier one and can be retrofitted to replace older style too questioning the need for the posi look on those models.
