| Here's one you probably haven't seen before. On my 2004 Chevy Suburban Z71, when I turn on my left turn signal, my hazard lights go on instead. My right turn signal works fine. This first occurred when the truck was only a month or so old and and lasted for about a day. The dealer was unable to find any problems. Now more than 3 years later, I started happening again this morning. Any ideas? |

| This is a known problem and GM has repair info on it that calls for the replacement the hazard lamp flasher (P/N 15764135 ), not multifuction switch. (GM Doc ID# 1507507) It is also dated May 7, 2004 so they have know about it for a while and you should be able to get them to fix it for free even if you are out of warranty because you did report it once before and it is a known problem with a upgraded replacement part. |

Thanks, I just have access to some really good references here (especially on GM products) and know how to use them.... |

We have solid info on all of the manufacturers through our press credentials, but stuff like that (TSB's, etc.) are invaluable and quite handy.

| Not for nothing SnoMan.....but "u da man"! Thanks for the quick reply. It saves me the trouble of ripping the steering apart to replace the multi-switch. Even better, now I can go fight it out with the dealer. (ie less work for me) Any idea what the TSB # is on this problem? |

It was not listed as a official TSB (likely to save money) but rather as a repair/upgrade. If you go to a GM dealer and quote the doc ID number I gave you, they will be able to pull up the info I referanced because it is from their manuals that they use. |

| Thanks again SnoMan. If I should decide to do it myself, I assume I would find the "hazard lamp flasher (P/N 15764135 )" in the fuse box behind the panel next to the steering column? |

| So how did you make out? Don't feel alone. My 2003 Silverado Z71 does the same exact thing when I turn on the RIGHT turn signal. It used to be intermittent but now it does it every time. Did changing the flasher fix the problem? Was it an easy job? My dealer wanted $65.75 for a new one. A found it cheaper online for $36. |

Guys, this is great info.
I have been searching for some time to figure out what the problem is.
I am taking the truck ('03 Tahoe, left turn starts flashers) to the dealer for estimate etc today, and will forward his comments later.
cheers |
