I am looking for the Parking Brake release cable for my 2004 Suburban Z71. This is not part # 10391700. It is the thin 12 inch cable that runs under the dash from the parking brake release lever to the mechanical pedal release. Any ideas as to the part # and where I can get it ONLINE. GMPARTSDIRECT.com does not have it.

If it broke on a 3 year old vehicle, I think I would be complaining to GM about a new free one because this is a safety issue.

SnoMan, as usual you are probably right. Especially since I stretched the warrantee to 7 years/100,000 miles when I bought the truck. However, after I bought my truck, I added aftermarket fog lights, a navigation system, XM, a backup camera, and a DVD system (Chevy didn't offer these options on a Suburban at the time). Anyway, most of the wires are routed pretty close to this parking brake cable and I figure I rather pay for the part and do it myself rather than let the dealer's mechanics screw something else up.

Have you considered having them give you the part and you install it yourself? Also I have extensive mods to my plow truck and there was never any extended warranty claim issues from it at all. (none of it was a factory option either) For that matter, they even replaced my intake gasket (again) for free out of warranty last fall.
