OK, went with a 2007 chevy (only so I could stay on this site) Silverado 2500 HD new. Of course......4X4....and THANK GOD a manual transfer case shifter. I hate push button. It has the 3.73 with locking rear. Lt 245 75r16. VERY SMALL TIRES. I can tell you right no, the first thing I am doing is getting bigger tires to fill up that wheel well from hell.

So tell me, how BIG can I go without it being too BIG for my RIG.

What I mean by that is I know I can go really big, I have the room, but I when I say too bog, I am refering not to wheel well room but in trying to maintain the aspect of having no major ill effects on the drive system and want it to be as close to design as possible.

What would the board reccommend??????????????

Oh forgot. To help determine tire size, I have the 6.0 engine and the 6 speed auto tranny with the towing set up with tranny cooler.

I would go with the 285/75R16. They are almost a 33" tire and really look good. I had a set of BfGoodrich All-Terrains and they were great. The Hankook Dynapro ATM is a really good tire also and you can not beat the price of them.

Does anything have to be reprogrammed for bigger tires?

Your speedo might be a few miles per hour slow but there is many chips out there to reprogram the tire diameter and increase horsepower. I would look at the EDGE products.

i have the classic in gmc package tho the only thing i could fit w/ green keys was 265s. thats w/ a little bumper trimming.

but, i have the d-max its a little heavier then the gas eng.

as for tuners safe route would be hypertech. safe & cheap. if your mech. savvy go w/ efilive. (wait4tunes) jess is a first class guy. he safly put me at 536 hp at the rear wheel at the dyno. yes, i do have a built trans now.

"green keys" and "efilive. (wait4tunes)" Is that a website? And why would I have to be savvy to put in thier (whoever they are) chip? I thought that took all the guess work out of it. But I do ike the words SAFE....
