Curious if anyone knows whats better. A bully or a pop'n'lock tailgate lock. Bully is 1/2 the price.

Also looks like a bully leaves the hole open to grab the handle with versus the ponlock which only leaves a portion.

Any ideas?

I looked at the both of them, I would say that the Bully looks better. Just my opinion. I think both will work fine.

Cheaperrooter,

I have had a pop'n'lock installed in my 05' Dodge for 3 years now and it works great. I looked at the bully as well, but the Pop'n'lock covers up the portion of the handle mechanism that is usually broken when theives get in. There is still plenty of room to use the handle and I don't even notice the difference anymore. After 3 years no one has even attempted to break into the bed. Just my 2 cents.

Cheers,

Yoda

Thanks Yoda. I was worried as the picture shows the opening reduced quite somewhat. But I think I am going to go with a "LOUIE SPECIAL". I did this on my other truck and it worked great. I took a long 6 solid inch BOLT and LATCH, like what would go on a farm door ($10)and attached the long bolt part to the tailgate at the very end. Then I drilled a hole right into the side wall of the truck the diameter of the long bolt latch. Then I close the tailgate, reach my hand inside, and push the bolt into the hole. Then I close and lock the topper. Works great. Yes, the handle does release the tailgat, but it doesn't budge an inch. Cheap, easy and very effective.
