| Sooo, I was thinking about it, and I was wondering about the pro's and con's to Elliptical suspension. Where you cut one end off a leaf pack and flip it upside down and mount the eye on the axle and bolt the other end to the frame. Can anyone give me some tech tips or links that would outline what to do, expect, etc?? |

ChevyMan,
you will still need to do a 4-link to locate the rear axle, but its not too tough and will combat all wheel-hop, axle wrap etc. if done correctly. Elliptical set ups are pretty cool and work well, the toghest part is finding the right spring rate for your rig. You are now only going to use about 2/3 of your spring pack, so you may have to add a few more cut down leaves to get the rate your after. You save money going with the Elliptical set-up because you don't have to buy coilovers, air shocks, etc, you can use junk yard springs to achieve your lift and flex.
Hope this helps,

| Yes that does help. Saving that money on the coilovers is kind of what I am after. Can I use my 8inch lift springs I already have on there?? That would be sweet. |

Yes, and no. The original spring rate in your 8" leaf packs provided enough spring rate to hold your vehicle up in the air. When you cut your spring pack down by a 1/3rd, you will loose somewhere around 1/3rd of it's spring rate (e.g. lifting capability). So you'll need to add more springs to compensate for this.
