I have a 93` YJ with American Eagle 589`s and 29-10.50 Thornbirds which have no rubbing at full lock. I wanted to know what is the best aftermarket lift to fit 33` 10.50 or 11.50 Thornbirds making them fit well, ride well and no massive problems and not using a body lift. What is the best brand Rancho, Pro Comp, Super Lift, etc. ; Ride Height ; Shocks, Easiest to Install Etc.?

IN MY OPINION PRO-COMP WOULD BE YOUR BEST BET, I BOUGHT MINE FOR A LITTLE OVER FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS FROM "FOUR WHEEL PARTS" AND INSTALLED IT IN MY DRIVEWAY IN A SHORT DAY BY MYSELF. YA GOTTA USE A LITTLE MUSCLE AND YOU'LL GET TIRED, BUT YOU WON'T DIE. ALSO I DID THIS WITH REGULAR TOOLS. BUT, I DID HAVE TO HAVE LOCAL GARAGE PUT THE PITMAN ARM ON ($10). YOU'LL HAVE PLENTY OF ROOM WITHOUT TO MUCH. YOUR RIDE WILL BE A LITTLE STIFF FOR A FEW WEEKS BUT, IT'LL SOFTEN UP NICELY. I'VE PUT ABOUT 20,000 MILES ON IT SINCE THEN AND HAVE NO COMPLAINTS. RIDE ON, MATT P.S. YOU MIGHT WANT TO CONSIDER A SPRING-OVER WHILE YOUR IN THE AREA OF MODS IT'S ALSO SIMPLE AND COST AROUND $300 FOR IT. THAT ALONE WILL GIVE YOU 5' TO 6'S OF LIFT(WITH STOCK SPRINGS) THEN TO MAKE THINGS BETTER YOU CAN GO WITH THE NEW STEERING CORRECTION KIT FROM JB CONVERSIONS. ------------ Taylor Johnson at 12/1/1998 7:48:04 PM
