Subject: 93 Cherokee rear end/brake drum noise

When backing up or accellerating after a stop, I hear a grabbing/binding sound from rear wheels. I also hear it when making hard left turns. It does not make any noise when wheels are cold, but after driving for a little while, it will make the noise almost everytime. Any ideas?

If you have already checked the brakes and eliminated that, one thing you could check is the rear differential fluid. If you have a limited slip differential, it may need some limited slip additive. If you do not have a limited slip diff, that will not help you though. It could also be a wheel bearing going bad. Check to see if any diff fluid is seeping from around the axle seal. If it is, you could need a new axle bearing. They are real easy to change in the rear axle.
