| i am by no means a transmission guy so if anyone can help me, thank you. when i was driving down the freeway i noticed nothing but smoke billowing from behind me so as i decided to exit thats when i noticed that nothing was happening when i gas it, just revving while it was in gear.... long story short, i dont know why i have a full fluid level still when theres tranny fluid all over my exhaust and everything else. when i start it up everything else seems fine and when i put it in gear nothing happens, it just freespins when i step on the gas. i cant see any fluid coming from the transmission lines so i dont know if the torque converter drained out or what. has anyone had this problem before and howd you fix it besides dropping 1800 on a new one? |

| I had the same problem, in the beginning.....Nothing short of replacing the tranny....I had all three solenoid packs replaced twice, it seemed like a temp fix. The jeep will do fine for 15-20,000 miles then the warning light comes back on. |
