| I getting ready to swap out my 2.5 out of my 91 YJ. I can pick up a 00 TJ engine, Tranny, Tcase, wiring harness, computer ETC, minus the drive lines, the engine has 10K on it for $3000. I also work with a guy who has a 98 XJ that was rolled. I can get the whole jeep for $600 but it has 85k on it. what would be the easiest or smartest to do? If anyone out there has any info on either of the two swaps it would be greatly appreciated.

Wise move. I would transfer the fuel system too. |

| I might be wrong but the XJ fuel system wont fit if I remember right its to tall. I think I might have to go with the same year TJ fuel system and tank just for the OBD2 system...... I'm starting not to like california. Dang smog laws. Cant wait to get stationed somewhere else. Any more words of advice and thanks for responding SnoMan |

You might check the front springs too because they may use a different spring rate with the 6 since it weighs more than the 4 and do not forget to upgrade the radiator too. Personally I kinda like the 4. My wife has one in a 2000 Cherokee (the last year the 2.5 was offered) and I find its power more than enough for our needs and it has been averaging in the mid 20's last few tanks which is nice with todays fuel prices. The 4 can do a good job even with big tires if you regear it properly. |

| Ok I picked up a 96 cherokee with 81K, im going to take the engine out hopefully next weekend. I have a idea of what I need to buy but if there is anyone out there that can give me a break down of what I need it would be very helpful. I'm also having to change the computer from an OBD2 to an OBD1. I want to start buying everything I need but I want to double check before I go over my head. My YJ is a manual and the Cherokee is an auto also. Im taking the engine tranny and tcase and using them. I appreciate this forum and thanks again |

| Im getting the whole thing from bumper to bumber minus a few things that the jaws of life cut off. The only thing that matters is the running engine and drive train.
