what do i need to do to swap a dana 35 on my zj out for a dana 44 that came out of a tj what will it take to do it

Have you checked the track width of both? I can also tell you that the brackets are not the same from the ZJ to the TJ although they may look similar. It may take a lot more work than you would think. Take quite a few measurements of both axles, from track width to the bracket locations. It can be done, but it may not be as easy as it looks!
