Well after replacing the Resistor and the ingnition coil and mod. it happened again it would not start but it did crank, [:(] so I did what another person did on this forum I disconnected the Map Sensor and repluged it and it started. After doing this 4X I bought one and replaced it, it has been starting ever since. The Saga continues.[:D]

This makes sense because at startup the MAP provides relative altitude information to set base line mixtures. Lacking this proper data, it may not start. When you unplug it it put ECM in fault mode and it pads data for next start.

Thanks Snowman, I really did not know what the Map sensor did but it is not that expensive and with as many miles as i have 186,657 it is worth it.[^]

All automakers get dual usage out of map sensors. One to read manifold pressure/vacuum when running and the other to provide altitude info at startup to set base line timing and mixture control. It is a shame that they do not use a separate sensor for altitude sensing because this would allow for altitude compensation on the fly on a long mountain climb because as it is now, if you climb from 1000 to 6000 ft the baseline is not rest until you shut off engine and restart it. Without doing this it just adjusts mixture some via O2 sensor as you climb higher.
