I need information from anyone who knows first hand about a supercharger install for a 4.0. I have an 06 Rubicon and I live in the mountains. I know that I have been asking questions about superchargers and have had some good ideas from some great guys (snow man) but now I am down to the final decision on brand. Anybody out there have any recommendations? My problem is that there are so many companies out there that sell superchargers but do not have a kit. I hate the thought of starting from scratch even though I can build almost anything. I also have another problem and that is that I have a Ace2 chip on my rig now and I am not sure if it is a good idea to keep it or sell it???

First things first. What is the configuration of your Jeep? Is it stock or lifted with bigger tires. Also when you chipped it did you at least use mid grade gas or did you stick with regular. Once you go down the supercharger road you have to use premium 100% of the time. Get into it with regular and you can destroy the engine in a heart beat. (with a super usually by the time you hear serious knock it is too late)

My jeep has a pro comp 4" lift kit and I have 33' tires on 15' rims. I have called everyone who sells supercharger kits sense my last message and am getting the same answer from everyone. No not yet. We will have one in about six months. I did find one guy in San Diego that will install one when it is available but he has to do a lot of tweking to the computer to get it dialed in. I am almost ready to give up on the idea.

If I were to get a super charger today, it would be a ProCharger because they come with a intercooler too. I do not know if they are planning a kit for your Jeep though. Honestly the best thing you can do here for now is deeper gears. I would suggest at least a 4.88 or maybe 5.13 because of altitude. It will help a lot and give you more usable gears in thin air. 4.88's will boost your 65 MPH top gear RPM cruise by about 350 RPM You should have 4.10's now and current RPM should be about 2000 at this speed and 4,88's would put it around 2350 RPM. Gears will help a lot on and off road in thin air. Think of it this way, you engine is making maybe 140 HP tops or or less at high altitude and deeper gears make better use of a available power. Like I said earlier there is not chip or tune or exhaust system that can fix the power loss but deeper gears can make it a lot more livable. I would skip over a 4.56 as a 4.88 would give a more meaningful boost in your scenario and if you really do not go cruising much and are mostly off road, I would do 5.13's. 5.13's would be sweet off road as it would reduce the requirement for low range even in thin air. Below is a link for a tire size/axle ratio calculator if you want to play with some numbers.
