Are you referring to the u-joings in the axle itself? That is, the u-joints at the end of the axle tube?

I'm asking because u-joints are already balanced and don't need to be changed to deal with a vibration problem, unless they're damaged or something.

Also, you'll need to describe the shake to us a bit... does this happen at certain speeds? Is it a vibration, or a violent shake? Does it only happen when you hit bumps?

That's called a "death wobble". Check any of these threads for more information: http://www.4x4review.com/discussions2/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=3580 http://www.4x4review.com/discussions2/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=4066 http://www.4x4review.com/discussions2/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=3952 http://www.4x4review.com/discussions2/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=177 http://www.4x4review.com/discussions2/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=2980

You can also do a search on our boards for "death wobble" and find at least 3 or 4 more topics on this.

No problem.

For what it's worth (and those threads define this), unless the ball joints are worn, that's usually NOT the problem.

Hi Giantdown - As I thought, it's not the ball joints. Check those other posts for some things to check for.

P.S. - adding bigger tires will exacerbate the problem until you get it fixed.

Best of luck, and let us know if you can't get it fixed.
