i`m an american currently living in istanbul turkey. i`m thinking of buying a jeep. models range from old willys up to the 80s. gas cost about $4 a gallon so gas millage is important. i`m currently thinking about a 73 cj6 w/ 258. i like the longer wheel base versions for the room (got a wife and kids) old willys are however about half the cost Cj3b or there military equivalent are available plus some cj2 many have however had extensive part swaps, new engine etc.. i`ve bought several jeep books (jeep bible etc..) but have not received them yet should get them in a couple of weeks. The jeep will be an off roader and beat up some (a lot ??? ) during use. any opinions out there? Should I go for the cheaper models or a new one or maybe modify one (got the money but perfer not to spend to much)
