Has any one or does any one know of any one who has swaped chevy axles
into a 2000 jeep wrangler tj.Would coils or leafs be the way to go I have coils now but finding replacement coil sping pads are hare to find does any one know were to get them?
How hard would it be to convert my old jeep steering componets to work with chevy axles?
I already know if i do convert to chevy axles i want to use a dana 300 with my NV3550 does anyone object to that combo?

you two are correct.
im lazy & would rather have the 350 trans or even better 400 trans.
i would stay w/ the coils any day. lots of people are using ford rear areostar coils or front f150 w/ a 4 or 6inch lift. i have seen them both. ther perform well & cheap.
as for the coil buckets are cheap to make. if you have a welder, torch,
& grinder. or go the other easy & cheap way get w/ dan at btf(bluetorch fab)
he sale pre made buckets for the frame or axle.
good luck. post some pics.....

hehehe...
That's almost the exact same setup I'm running, so I guess I'm a little biased. :) I like the setup.
The Ford 9" axle (if built right) can soak up nearly 800 horsepower, and the Dana 300 tcase with a Teralow 4.0:1 kit can absorb just as much. 4.56:1 gears on 33's is pretty low (maybe a bit too low) if you're going to be driving it at highway speeds a lot. If not, then stick wtih the low gears, as you won't be sorry!
I think you'll be really happy with the setup, that's for sure!!!!
P.S. Any pictures of your rig?
