Absolutely not. Load ratings are a bit goofy, in all honesty, as tire manufacturers use their own ratings for this, but that's another story.

Anyhow, you'll love the BFGoodrich AT's, they're awesome all-around tires and will serve you well. I ran them for nearly 10 years exclusively and loved them.

Actually Rick this is not quite true. Higher load range tires have a little heavier cord in them to safely take higher pressures required for bigger loads so a C range tire with be a bit stiffer at same pressure than a B. (not much but some) With D's it is a bit more and so on. Also at same pressure a C load range rated tire will roll a bit hard at same pressure as a B because again slightly stronger cords in body. Furthermore (unless they changed) BFG uses their 3 ply sidewall on those tires for more sidewall protection which makes them roll a bit harder and ride a bit rougher on road. I am not saying they are a bad tire it just that they will be stiffer than stock tires. I ran BFG for many years on my old burb I went through almost 3 sets over a 9 year period and got about 30 to 35K each set and then the bodies started to break down and crack in tread area on that heavy vehicle and they were replaced with full new sets twice with a warranty adjustment. (it was not from improper tire pressure either) They wore fine and had good tread (over half) but were starting to come apart. I finally dumped them and went to some "Mich" LT C range street tires and never regretted it and picked up a few MPG in the deal too. The Mic's still look great 7 years later too. It is not a daily (or even weekly) driver at times and they have about 30K on them now

Snoman - I appreciate your input, but I'm well aware of how tires constructed and the materials used. I've been on multiple factory tours at Bridgestone, Cooper and BFGoodrich plants. I didn't go into details, because of type of questions Wiesem was asking.

Wiesem - Given the weight of your Grand Cherokee, the natural road and wind noise that your GC produces, and the quality of ride it has, you won't notice a difference going to the BFG KO's. Factually, Snoman is correct, but given the type of vehicle you drive, the amount of off-roading that you will be doing, and the fact that you like the looks of the BFG AT KO's (I agree - they're aggressive and sexy all at the same time), you should go for it. The KO's are incredible on and off-road tires and will work in nearly every type of environment! Enjoy your new purchase, and drop us a picture of your rig when you get your new meats on them!
