Hi All,

Its tire time again and I was wondering if you all could help. My jeep has the stock suspension and rims. Currently I've got 235 17 15's on it, but they look a little small to me. Also, this set has been pretty noisy, wild country's from Les Schwab. Can anyone recommend a good new tire that isn't too loud. I don't go off road much, and live in Portland Oregon (somewhat rainy), I do tow a boat from time to time and want tires that will have plenty of traction. Size and brand would be appreciated. Any recomendations? Thanks.

Do you have a set budget to deal with?

LOL... wouldn't we all. ;)

Well, you're already larger than the stock tire, as the OE tire size is 225 75 R 15. Going larger than the 235's on it now, would cause rubbing in the fender wells and probably agasint the frame. Since you don't take your rig off road all that much and need good traction for towing, etc., I'd suggest the following tires:

- BFGoodrich Radial Long Trail T/A - $85 per tire or so - Bridgestone Dueler A/T D693 - $95 per tire or so - Bridgestone Dueler A/T Revo - $115 per tire or so - General Grabber AT 2 - $85 per tire or so

Of those tires listed, my personal favorite would be the Dueler A/T Revo. They're a great all-around tire, they last a long time and so on. We reviewed these tires a few years back, and you can see it at: http://www.4x4review.com/products/tires/Bridgestone-Dueler-AT-Revo.asp . You can also see all of our other tire reviews at: http://www.4x4review.com/products/tires/

Hope that helps.

Rick

Nice. Too offten do we overlook our daily drivers. Especially in some of our haste to build offroad machines. Sometimes I forget what its like to drive in something you can hear yourself think in. I usually realize it when I get on the Slope and drive the new Duramaxs. Its pretty sad when a deisel is quiter than your offroad rig....lol.
